REGISTER FOR ACCESS

Secure access to the Change of Vehicle Ownership (CVO) online system is granted to Motor Dealers by the use of digital certificates which are provided through the Revenue Commissioners On-line Services (ROS). The change of ownership transactions submitted via the CVO system will also be digitally signed in order to guarantee the authenticity and the privacy of the information submitted.

If you are a motor dealer and you wish to use the online CVO system you must register for access. You must follow the three step registration process described below. If you do not register or if your application for registration is not successful you will not be able to access the CVO system.

To register for access to online CVO you must do the following ?

1. Check if you meet the basic requirements for registration i.e.
  • A Garage Code/Dealer No. issued by the Driver and Vehicle Computer Services Division.
  • A VAT number
If you do not have all of the above you will not be able to access the CVO system.

2. Submit the attached application form to the Driver and Vehicle Computer Services Division by email to motortrans@dttas.ie

3. If your application to register for access to the CVO system is successful you will receive confirmation of approval to log on to the Revenue Commissioners online services (www.ros.ie) and download a digital certificate. This certificate will be named '?NVDF'? and it will enable you to login to the CVO system and to digitally sign online CVO transactions.
